Tapes' self-titled release experiments with the combination of electronic and analog sound giving the listener a harmoniously immersive experience. The album eases its way through creating a sense of fluidity for the listener. "Tapes" carries the right amount of ambience with beat driven drum machines from track to track to construct 8 separate soundscapes:

Although each track suggests a separate theme, the 8 tracks bleed into each other producing a light daydream feel, with a serene nostalgic undertone, that carries a presence throughout the album. Tapes' self-titled album experiments with looping, processing, and improvisation, and ultimately finds a happy place to bridge the gap between electronic and analog sound.
